When I first heard "Song 2" by Blur, I thought hte opening lyrics were:
I got my head checked,
My HMO checked,
It wasn't easy-
But nothing is...
I thought this was a pretty humorous jibe at how difficult it is to deal with medical insurance companies, and especially HMOs, and I was rather disappointed when I found out what the real lyrics were. This song makes absolutely no sense.
As someone else asked, how can a park "melt"? And what does leaving
a cake out in the rain have to do with anything?

Today was the first day of the year during which one can see smoke coming out of one of the smokestacks of the University Power Plant. I live across the street from it, so I keep track of these things. What you can see coming out isn't actually smoke -- it's probably just water vapor. In a way, it is too bad that smokestacks don't actually smoke anymore - the smoke looked cool. But on the other hand, it is probably just as well that they don't, as breathing is generally more important than watching smoking smokestacks. I'm excited just to be able to see anything; I didn't expect to. Maybe once the weather gets even colder, you'll be able to see exhaust gases from the other smokestack, too! :)
